Day 9: D9 Damaraland – Twyfelfontein – Rock Carvings

Breakfast prepared by the team. Beautiful drive to Twyfelfontein, via Palmwag. We leave Kaokoland for Damaraland and are amazed by the landscapes, vast savannah plains and inselbergs appearing on the horizon. It is in this very wild region that white rhinos have been reintroduced for several years. All along the trail, we can spot springboks, giraffes, and other antelopes. We continue to Twyfelfontein.
Picnic lunch. Visit the Twyfelfontein site, a vast mountain cirque dominated by a chaos of smooth, red rocks, as if fallen from the sky, where we can still see more than 3,000 rock carvings engraved by Neolithic man. A true open-air art gallery! The tour is accompanied by a local English-speaking guide. Allow approximately 2 hours for the tour/walk.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a stroll with our guide through this enchanting setting as the sun sets.
