Day 10: Twyfelfontein- Brandberg- Spitzkopje (Bushman’s Paradise Walk)

Breakfast. Drive to Brandberg, where we enjoy a walk in this site known since the beginning of the century for its impressive collection of rock paintings. Brandberg, or Fire Mountain, is particularly renowned for its depiction of the “White Lady.” It is not uncommon to observe rock hyraxes, which live beneath the granite rocks. The tour is accompanied by a local guide. Allow approximately 3 hours of walking.
Picnic lunch, then we continue towards Spitzkoppe.
In the afternoon, we set off to explore Spiztkoppe (also known as Spitzkop, Groot Spitzkop, or the “Matterhorn of Namibia”). It is a rocky collection of granite peaks or bornhardts. It is located in Damaraland, between Usakos and Swakopmund, in the Namib Desert. The rock is over 700 million years old, and the highest point is 1,784 meters above sea level, 700 meters above the surrounding plains. The effect is all the more striking given that the surrounding terrain is completely flat, with the exception of a small range known as Pontok, which includes Little Spitzkoppe, which rises to 1,584 meters above sea level. On the surrounding rocks, numerous Bushman paintings can be seen. The climb to Bushman’s Paradise is a delight for hikers.
Dinner and overnight stay at Spitzkoppe Campsite (or equivalent)
